Classroom Management Plan
The students will bring home their Take-Home Binder each day as a way to keep communication between home and school up to date. The students will write down their homework assignments in their Take-Home Binder. Each day, the students will earn a check mark based on their behavior that day. Green = On Target. Yellow = Warning. Red = Needs attention. Parents must sign the agenda each evening to indicate that they are aware of their student's progress and homework requirements. The Take-Home Binder will be checked in the morning when the students arrive. Any notes or money left in the pockets will be collected.
For those techy parents that want the latest update on their child's progress throughout the day, you may accept the electronic invite to log into Class Dojo. I have sent forms home to sign and show that you have accepted the invitation online. There you will be able to track points that your students earn and the specific categories in which they are earning the points. This account helps to pinpoint the areas that your child is showing strength in and those areas that require more attention. http://www.classdojo.com/ Log into your account today and also create a student account for your child to track their own progress with cool monster avatars that they will love! Each week, Class Dojo generates reports with a "donut" showing the students overall growth. Parents can also ask questions or make comments for specific information. Some of you are already logging in and talking to your children about their progress. Thank you so much for your support! These Dojo points mean very little without reinforcement at both school and home. It is very helpful when families talk about the information that Class Dojo provides and discuss incentives to help them outside of school. We are working on earning classroom and individual rewards in the classroom for making efforts to grow and meet their goals each week!

Careers
In Ms. Borgerding’s class, we will be working as a team to make sure that our classroom is a safe, happy, and clean environment. We not only learn about different subjects in our class, but we also learn about life skills and becoming responsible citizens of our community. Everyone is important in the classroom and everyone has an important job to do! Here are a list of the classroom careers and what the responsibilities are for each job. Some jobs require partners and leaving the classroom may be part of the duties.
Careers & Responsibilities:
Message Manager
The message manager will be in charge of delivering messages to other classrooms and taking the attendance folder or other important forms to the front office each morning. Messengers will also be in charge of greeting visitors at the front desk and escorting them to the classroom.
Floral Specialist
The floral specialist will be in charge of making sure that the plants in the classroom stay watered. He/she will also clean up around the plants if any leaves have fallen off or dirt collects on the floor. It is not required, but the specialist may bring flowers for a vase to beautify the classroom if he/she wishes!
Pencil Technician
The pencil technician makes sure that all of the pencils are sharpened before school starts. Any pencils that need to be sharpened will be in the “to be sharpened” bucket. Sharpened pencils may be placed in the “sharpened pencils” bucket each day.
Paper Manager
The paper manager is in charge of passing out important papers to the class and collecting papers when needed. The paper manager also checks to make sure that there is enough writing paper and construction in the paper trays for the class to use.
Line Leader Supervisor
The line leader supervisor is in charge of setting a good example and leading the class quietly down the halls using great hallway procedures. “Perfect 10!”
Chair Manager
The chair manager is in charge of making sure the chairs are stacked against the walls at the end of the day.
Supply Specialist
The supply specialist is in charge of passing out supplies to each table as needed each day. He/she will make sure that all supplies make it back to their designated area and throw away any empty containers.
Door Technician
The door technician makes sure to hold the door for the other students to safely enter and exit the building. He/she must also flip the “we are here” book for visitors to the classroom. He/she may answer the door when there is a knock at the classroom door.
Playground Equipment Manager
The playground equipment manager will be in charge of making sure that all playground equipment is collected and is placed in the recess basket. The playground manager and partner will carry the equipment back into the classroom.
Recycling Manager
The recycling manager will be in charge of making sure that we have a “green classroom”. He/she will be in charge of making sure that anything that can be recycled goes into the recycle bin. He/she will help KCSMA’s Green Team separate items to be recycled each day.
Nurse Manager
The nurse manager is in charge of making sure that each student that needs to see the nurse is escorted safely to the nurse’s office. He/she is also in charge of wiping the desktops off at the end of each day.
